Depending on one’s condition, patients on various therapies might need additional equipment such as a hospital bed, wheelchair, commode, bath safety and/or ADL’s (aids for daily living) to assist them in maintaining their independence and optimum mobility. River City HealthCare & Pharmacy provides a wide range of home medical equipment (HME) and supplies to improve the quality of life for patients with special needs. Our home care specialists communicate with all pertinent parties, including the hospital/doctor, patient, and caregiver, to assess and evaluate the need for appropriate equipment as directed by the physician’s treatment plan. Patients and their caregivers receive not only the best quality equipment, but caring support from our expert staff.
Treatment might also require additional supplies, such as protective gloves, gauze/tape, colostomy, catheter, and incontinence supplies (protective briefs, etc.). The attending physician oversees the need for additional equipment/ supplies, in cooperation with the hospital and patient. This will help determine how much of the cost will be paid by the patient’s medical insurance or government payer.
